Being house bound has seen an increase in renovations and new building and the team at Frazerhurst have enjoyed getting the opportunity to work with some new clients on some lovely projects.
One project particularly was a highlight for us.
A Pavillion style home with Industial elements. The challenges were the need for sun Protection and privacy on the western side of the home and an outstanding view on the North side.
The colour pallet was kept neutral and tonal for continuity throughout the home. Differing texture was used allowing each room to have its own feel and personality. All with an emphasis on contemporary elegance.
Where night time privacy is not an issue there is no need for full blockout linings.
The use of a decorative sheer allows the natural light to play through the room giving a sense of space while still controlling the worst of the direct sunlight.
Using a wave pleat mounted from the ceiling gives a sense of height and drama, all kept under control with the subtle tone on tone colour.
Shutters were chosen for the windows where privacy and sun control were a requirement.
Wide blades with a mid-rail allow for the control of light as well as line of sight.
The master bedroom was given the elegant treatment with heavily textured metallic fabric with loads of volume and a touch of pooling to give a cosy feel but still keeping with the semi-industrial overall theme.
Exterior Aluminium Shutters were chosen for the portico not only for continuity to the indoors but also because they are durable and practical allowing control of wind, rain, sun and line of sight.
The clients overall sence of style and collected objects and art works are complemented beautifully by their window furnishing choices.
This was just one of the beautiful houses that we helped turn into a home this year.
